The Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu’s on his two-day visit toIndia on Monday signed 9 agreements, including natural gas, national security and cybersecurity.These important agreements were signed after a meeting with Prime Minister NarendraModi and Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, both cabinet ministers, officials andking-technical specialists.These agreements also include joint ventures for oil and natural gas, national security,cyber security, mutual cooperation in agriculture and technology, investment in Indiancinema, change in protocols in both countries and airports, and terrorism suppression.Speaking at a joint press conference, after the agreement, PM Modi said, “The newagreement will further strengthen the foundations of the two countries”, while Israel PrimeMinister, described India as the “new moon” in Israel affiliation.
Trade Commissioner Ohad Cohen, Israel’s finance ministry, said that free trade would bepossible between the two countries as a result of a deal between India and Israel.Indian Oil and metal-air batteries in Israel Phinergy Ltd. signed a letter of intent forcooperation in the region.Israel’s investment in India is expected to grow substantially as a result of new agreementswith a net inflow of Rs. 31,762 crore in the fiscal year of 2011-12, which could furtherincrease.
9 agreements are signed based on Memorandum Of Understanding sample,that are cybersecurity cooperation between India and Israel, Cooperation in agriculture and technology, Intent betweenInvest India and Invest in Israel, Cooperation in the area of metal-air batteries, Intent between Indian Oiland Gas sector, Protocol between India and Israel on Amendments to the Air Transport Agreement, Film-co-production between India and Israel, Cooperation between in the field of Research in HomoeopathicMedicine, MoU between Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST) and the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology for cooperation in the field of space.Speaking later, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “We have developed our partnershipsnow. We can continue further on our way”. In India, which has given new dimensions toforeign investment, Israel companies are able to achieve more, he added.Netanyahu was accompanied by a 130 member business delegation, who arrived in NewDelhi on Sunday for a six day visit to India that will also see him going to Agra,Ahmedabad and Mumbai.
