My name is Steven Adams. I currently work for the Arizona Department of Juvenile Corrections as A Youth Corrections Officer. The work is very interesting because of the type of youth that you come in contact with and they are at a very challenging point in their lives. I spend most of my time supervising the kids but have also become certified as a group facilitator in the Seven Challenges Program which is the substance abuse program that we run on the facility. I have coached Youth in the Past as a Wrestling and Football coach and volunteer when I have time. I also work in the Army Reserves as an Intelligence Analyst.
I work in the S2 Shop for a Civil Affairs Battalion where I perform everything from country studies in the Pacific Region of the World to supporting line companies with their training exercises. The Army has been very rewarding for me and has allowed be to finish my Bachelors’ Degree along with pursuing my Masters. I have chosen this Masters Degree Program because it will further my education in both my Civilian and Military career. I currently have my Bachelors’ of Science in Public Safely and Emergency Management from GCU along with my Associate of Applied Science in Intelligence Operations Studies from Cochise College.
I am always looking for opportunity and I feel that finishing my Master degree will open many doors for me. I currently live in Phoenix, AZ with My Girlfriend Sarah and our two dogs Paco and Kali. I have put off pursuing my Masters Degree for about a year but I was very motivated by the recent tragedy that occurred here in Arizona in Yarnell. I am very passionate about emergency response and not only how we respond but the training that is put in place before disaster strikes.
