I’m writing about Coco Chanel. She played the greatestrole in fashion industry and is still the world-famous designer.
In thebeginning, I tell you why I chose Coco Chanel as the topic of this essay. Fewdays ago, I heard that a lot of celebrities taking part in The 75th GoldenGlobes Awards wore black costumes to protest against sextual harassments. Itwas very surprising for me because I didn’t know that the fashion could be thetool of showing perspectives and claiming rights. Coco Chanel also made a bigdifference in the fashion and enhance women’s rights.
That’s why I chose CocoChanel as theme of this essay.I’ll introduce a little about her before I tell youabout what she did. According to an article about Coco Chanel, “Famed fashiondesigner Coco Chanel was born Gabrielle Bonheur Chanel on August 19, 1883, inSaumur, France.” (Coco Chanel,2017) “Chanel was raised in an orphanage and taughtto sew. She had a brief career as a singer before opening her first clothesshop in 1910”. (Coco Chanel,2017).
After spending her early life as a singer, sheopened her first shop to sell hats.She made two remarkable achievements. The first one isthat she invented “the now legendary Chanel suit with collarless jacket andwell-fitted skirt. Her designs were revolutionary for the time”(CocoChanel,2017). She made it possible for women to choose what they wear and hersuit enabled women to stop to wearing corsets and other confining clothes.

As the result of these changes she made, women can enjoyclothes which are decorated with costume jewels regardless of their classes. In conclusion, she worked not only for makingfashionable things but also for empowerment of women. It is undoubtful factthat she made difference in society as well as fashion industry. Through herlife, we can learn the importance of taking an action and trying to new things.
It is certain that being different from others is hard and we may be criticizedby other people. Coco had also experienced a lot of criticism of her works butshe never gave up and keep trying. Her challenges made women’s life better andhad a good influence on society. Today, We may need to be brave to solve issuesfor example what I mentioned in the beginning part of this essay.
