Greetings New Initiate of TauBeta Sigma National Honorary Band Society,I would personallylike to welcome you to the Zeta Beta Chapter of Tau Beta Sigma NationalHonorary Band Society. We are excited that you have accepted to be involved inour program within the Marching Crimson Piper Band. We couldn’t be more excitedin your diligence and acceptance into our chapter of Tau Beta Sigma.
As we journey ofthe path of sisterhood and growth, I encourage you to take advantage of ourprograms of community development, educational achievement, and musicappreciation both on the national and chapter level. It is important to keep anopen mind during your exploration into the organization. From a peer standpoint, I wouldlike to offer you some my own advice and personal experiences from when I was anew member of the Zeta Beta Chapter of Tau Beta Sigma. Upon acceptance intothis organization, you will be faced with challenging yourself physically andmentally, and it is very important to remain spiritually sound with yourself.Always remember who you were walking into this new chapter of your life andkeep an open mind to embrace self-development.
In the “EightEssential Factors” which promote friendship and respect, my favorite line is, “Tolerance, tempered with kindness and a consideration for the needs of others.” This quoteasks you to always remain kind natured no matter the obstacle in your path ofdevelopment. I personally used thisquote to keep myself motivated during my years in Tau Beta Sigma. There will bedays when you are challenged and it is important to not lash out but to remaintolerant in new environments and situations. Remember, your problem justdoesn’t just affect you; it affects all of us because we are all bonded in thisorganization through sisterhood. This is anexciting time for us to get to know each other outside of the band program.
Because of your exceptional service to the Marching Crimson Piper Band, we areeagerly excited to see what ideas and goals you bring not only to our chapterbut to the community. We have set up a meeting that will put you in contactwith all of the departments as well as the chapter members that you will beworking with this school term. If you have anyquestions or concerns please feel free to contact me personally at [email protected]
org or (205)601-3370. Congratulationsand thank you again for your service and dedication to the Zeta Beta Chapter. We really look forward to working with you!Regards, Candice D.
