Frankenstein: Creature to Monster In the book, Frankenstein, written by Mary Shelley, the creature transforms immensely. In the genesis of the novel the creature felt very alone which started to make him feel very frustrated. As the story proceeds, he evolved into the monster everyone set out to believe he was by executing his first unlawful act of murder. In the beginning, when he awakens in the lab, he was innocent. He could be compared to a newborn child. Nobody would be friends with him, so he had to find something to do. With this being said, he Just walked around aimlessly with no final destination.

All he wanted was for Victor to make him a mistress. He was tired of not only being lonely but hungry, cold and in pain. When the creature finally meets Victor, he is very irritated. He wants a woman to be with and Victor was willing to make her until he thought clearly about it. The creature is now becoming a monster or an evil child in comparison to the newborn child. For example, he not only killed William, but after everything was said and done, he laughed about it too. The reasoning for murdering William was because the creature was getting pushed to the limits.

While William was calling the creature names, he holds down on his throat to make him stop talking. The creature summoned Victor to make him a mate. It was almost like he thought he was better than everyone else. He said it himself, “We may not part until you have promised to comply with my requisition. I am alone and miserable; man will not associate with me; but one as deformed and horrible as myself would not deny herself to me. My companion must be of the same species and have the same defects. This being you must create. ” (page 123) The creature hates humanity ecause people are rude.

He did not do anything before he killed William and he still gets treated like an animal. His intentions are not to hurt people. He Just wants a companion. He did not mean to murder William at all, but William pushed the creature a little too far. The creature did evolve into a monster because nobody would listen to him, be his friend or love him. He had once been innocent but he was lonely so he had no choice but to be mean. He never had one single person and he was all alone. This had taken a role on him. Unfortunately, he let his anger get the best of him.
