They have been facing discriminationsince ages in some form or the other,further economic inequalities,custom ofsati,dowry and female infanticide further deteriorated their postion andfreedom.Government of India has enacted many acts to prevent harassment againstmarried women and has tried to improve the condition of married women.Stepshave been taken to discourage the practice dowry and sati.Measures have beenadopted to give economic equality to women by providing them more opportunityin different fields but the discrimination against married women stillexists.
Remarriage Is legal now so is the Divorce but Still due to old mindsetof the society the divorced women has to face a lot of problem.
