so,the  conclusion  was that we have to master vocabulary inorder to comprehend  and master the  4 skills in English which were speaking, reading, writing and listening. Without vocabulary it will be hard to masterall those skills  therefore theresearcher try to  identify how to mastervocabulary with a video as a media.2.                 TECHNIQUE OF TEACHING VOCABULARY In teaching vocabulary there are few techniquethat we may apply in order to teach in order to increase the studentsvocabulary mastery Accordingto  scott thornbury (2002) these are theway to teach vocabulary1.     Teaching Word Formation and Word Combination This kind of technique make the student to make  a new words by compound 2 kinds of word into1 and the result is that it will create a new form of word and also a newmeaning. This also stated by scott thornbury (116) words can be formed by theaddition of prefixes and suffixes a process called affxation.

2.     A Lexical ApproachAccording to scott thornbury (p.112)  a lexical approach to language teachingforegrounds vocabulary learning, both in the form of individual, high frequencywords, and in the form of word combination. This mean that this type oftechnique is not only focus on one individual skills but also may help othersto learn vocabulary in a group.3.     Teaching Lexical Chunks This type of technique will make the students tomake their own word chunks such as “what does X mean?” and they do it on theirown and also sometimes by teacher guide. According to Scott  Thornbury(p.116) by increasing the stock ofclassroom phrases, teachers can exploit the capacity of chunks to provide theraw material for the later acquisition of grammar.

It means that this type oftechnique not also help the student with their vocabulary mastery but alsotheir grammar4.     Teaching word  grammarThis type of technique was focusing not only onvocabulary but also on grammar. According to scott thornbury(p.122) words thatare related in meaning to either say or tell tend to fall into one of these twopatterns. According to William M.Trochim(2002:p26) A correlational relationshipsimply says that two things perform in a synchronized manner .therefore, the writeruses an correlational method in order to find the connection between the use ofvideo in teaching vocabulary and the student vocabulary comprehension  2.     POPULATION AND SAMPLEThe populations of this study are students taken from third gradeof SMPN 34 SAMARINDA IN ACADEMIC YEAR 2016/2017. On this research thewriter uses a simple random sampling. According to Frerichs, R.R.(2008) Subjects inthe population are sampled by a random process, using either a random numbergenerator or a random number table, so that each person remaining in thepopulation has the same probability of being selected for the sample. It meansall the subjects in the population has the same chance to be chosen as a samplefor this research 3.     DATA COLLECTIONTECHNIQUEIn order to get thedata, the researcher does these procedures:            1. at the meeting, the researchertaught them vocabulary by using video2.Students pays attention to the researcher explanations .

3.The researcher then gives them a quesstionnare in order to get the data fromthem.                4.

the researcher then asked them to give back the quesstionarre.5.the researcher calculate the result from the quesstionnare 4.      INSTRUMENT(S)Theresearcher using 2 instruments togain the data from the population there are a quesstionnare paper.

video as amedia to teach and an quesstionnare which consists of 20 item of questions. 5.     DATAANALYSIS TECHNIQUEThe researcherusing correlation technique in order to compared the score of vocabularycomprehension and scores of video as a teaching media.
